Long awaited

finally, the MUET result has been released today. Starting from 12.01am today the results can be obtained through sms.

i didn’t check my own result but my friends’. (weird!) i just don’t dare.

this morning stepped into my class,

gabriel : 5 or 6?

me : duno wor.. i didn’t check.

ps : ray, what did u get?

ray : *evil grin* 6.

me : WHOA!!! waseh!!!! so geng! ray, you can claim back your RM60 from Pn. Catherine liao.

boon yee: got another one got 6 wor!

me :(excited) WHO WHO WHO??

boon yee: Gloria lor!

me :(clapping hands) waseh.. so geng!!!

so basically the whole morning was about this MUET thing. it’s not until the 6th period then i know what i got.

everyone rushed to the e-access room to check their results online. Some came back with disappointing look, some smile their way back to class. one pretend to be cool, but actually got a 6. Another 6? Suk Thin lor.

teacher : so those who are satisfied with your results, you can carry on with your own studies.

Science 1 has 3 Band 6 achievers for the time being (may increase by tomorrow). But Science 2 has no one for the time being. *YAY!* wahaha!

Goodbye, Mr. Fong

Mr. Fong’s last trace/print on the board of Upper Six Science 1.

Mr. Fong has retired as a teacher last Thursday after been teaching in my present school since 1982. Last class with him was indeed very special and memorable. The day before he had been teaching probability and had taken the word ‘retirement’ as an example.

He is a funny teacher and jokes a lot in class while teaching (mostly cold jokes). And his classic action is using glove while writing on the board and hit the glove against the wall to clean it.

His first impression for me was, i felt like i’m back in the 70’s or 80’s. His big glasses, ‘over-neat’ hairstyle, and the old-fashioned shirt. Nonetheless, he’s a smart and good teacher. Having been teaching us for a year, he never failed to solve any maths problem.

There was once he got angry with us and started scolding. I don’t quite remember what’s going on but ray was the one being scolded. And the whole class went so quiet. I’ve failed my maths once, during last year’s final but not anymore since then.

I wonder where he is now. He had boarded a plane and flew to God-knows-where for his vacation just the day after his retirement day. He’s enjoying his holidays happily somewhere on earth while we were left here without any teacher. T.T

Anyway, i’d like to wish him all the best in the rest of his life. Time to live the life he wants. As for us, supposedly our results won’t be too disappointing in case he comes back to have a glance at the result of his last batch of monkeys, er.. students i mean.

Love is floating in the air

Skylight

last week when we were having our organic chemistry, in the chapter of polymers, we came across a word ’skylight’, which i’m not sure what it is.

me: what is a skylight ha? sunlight ha?

ps: i think it’s a kind of window usually bulid on the roof.

me: oh, on attic one ha?

ps: kinda, one which let sunlight shines in from top.

me: why call skylight don’t call window le?

ps: cause you can see the light from sky shine in mah.

me: cheh. once a window always a window. doesn’t matter where it is situated. why need to have such sophisticated name?
